Why stop using conventional shampoos?

For years, we have trusted the big manufacturers and their enticing advertisements to take care of us. Cosmetics, but also shampoos are offered to us both in supermarkets and stores dedicated to beauty and in pharmacies. We are promised mountains and wonders and we believe in them, tending to forget that often only profit counts in the equation.

Take a step back with the seduction of marketing

Indeed, when you buy a shampoo (even low-end), you pay for the content, but also the container. Plastic packaging and cardboard over-packaging and water, preservatives, products harmful to your health... Do you read the labels? A successful conventional shampoo is above all a beautiful label, charming words, fantastic promises. It's also a very marked perfume (one of the first things you do is smell it) and... a big profit for the manufacturer who produces it. These marketing processes, known as “greenwashing”, allow a brand to sell products of poor quality and with no benefits for the consumer under misleading names. A few pretty pictures of flowers, the highlighting of a magic ingredient that will save your hair (while it is barely present in the product) or the example of a star who uses this product, all means are good to seduce you… and fool you!

Ban harmful products

Each time you buy this type of product, you pay for the label, while its contents are worth less than one euro. If you look carefully at the INCI of a classic shampoo label, you will probably find the following terms: AQUA, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, EDTA, BHT, METHYLPARABEN, POLYQUATERNIUMS, etc. All these products are harmful either to health, or to the environment, or to the personnel of the factory in which they were created.

Get out of the addiction cycle

Moreover, each time you use a conventional shampoo, your scalp and your hair are damaged by the irritating or occlusive products they contain (such as sodium laureth sulphate, silicones or polyquaterniums). They will therefore have to protect themselves by reacting to these daily attacks by producing more sebum.

Result ? Your hair gets greasy much faster than before and in an attempt to calm this reaction, you use the shampoo again. It's off to a hellish cycle in which your hair will leave feathers, just like your wallet. Because to solve the problem, we tend to look for a new shampoo that will solve the problem that the first generated... And we quickly find ourselves collecting shampoos in our bathroom and not knowing how to wash our hair! Which is exactly the goal sought by the manufacturers.

Choose natural and good quality products

An industrialist is above all a businessman who must pay as little as possible for his raw materials in order to resell them at exorbitant prices, or at least with a comfortable margin. Betting on organic or natural products means investing in small family businesses that offer real luxury and shampoos whose ingredients are fully effective.

Every penny spent on a good quality natural shampoo is an investment, because it allows you to take care of your hair without damaging it and therefore also to space out shampoos. The product is more expensive to buy (quality requires), but in the end much more economical over time, and more effective!

We must not forget that the first mission of a shampoo is above all to clean and protect the hair, it is only in this way that they will shine! Want to try first? Discover our travel sizes to become addicted to small doses!
