Our favorite drinks of autumn (a change from coffee)

Take advantage of the return of autumn to introduce your taste buds to new hot drinks! They are original, they are tasty… and above all, they have many hidden benefits to offer you… whereas the sacrosanct little black coffee is increasingly criticized for its effects on nervous balance, sleep quality and digestive comfort.

Here is our selection of 5 seasonal functional drinks, perfect for starting the day off right.

#1 Golden milk

The "golden" remedy of Ayurveda

The drink of sunshine and good vibes, perfect for warming up those gloomy autumn mornings! Golden milk (or "golden milk," or even "haldi ka doodh" for those in the know) is an Indian drink that relies on the power of spices. It traditionally consists of turmeric, enhanced with ginger, cardamom, and/or cinnamon. In Ayurvedic medicine, this potent golden beverage is considered a remedy for fatigue.

Our supercharged version of golden milk is Aime's Golden Glow ! In short: spices, a robust flavor, and added collagen for maximum benefits. It also has the advantage of combining black pepper and turmeric – black pepper is known to enhance the effects of turmeric, and vice versa. So here's everything you need to easily prepare a cup of golden milk that's as delicious as it is beneficial.

The recipe for energizing golden milk with collagen

1. Gently heat 250 ml of cashew milk in a saucepan, making sure to remove it from the heat before it boils. You can also make your own for even more nutrients! If you don't have any on hand, mix a neutral milk (almond, rice, soy) with coconut milk.

2. While the milk is still warm, dissolve a spoonful of coconut oil in it. This will help you better absorb the spices and thus benefit from all their properties.

3. Finally, add a measuring spoon of Aime's Golden Glow. Mix with a small whisk to obtain a homogeneous, smooth and slightly frothy mixture.

#2 Herbal tea latte

Your favorite infusion, creamier than ever

A gentler, caffeine-free version of the famous English tea (how about a splash of milk with your hot water?). If your favorite herbal infusions are starting to bore you, this latte version will add a touch of indulgence and creaminess. And during autumn, that's exactly what we're looking for, isn't it?

Nothing could be simpler! We'll demonstrate it to you with My Lubie's Desire herbal tea which, beyond its aphrodisiac aspect, also contains tonic ingredients such as ginger (its spiciness provides a pleasant warming effect) and red ginseng (renowned in herbal medicine for its effects on the feeling of energy and vitality of the body).

The season's gourmet herbal tea

1. Infuse 1 gram of Désir My Lubie herbal tea in 100 mL of water heated to 90°C. For the latte version, we recommend steeping it longer to enhance the herbal flavor, which may be masked by milk. Here, you can aim for 15-20 minutes.

2. Gently warm 100 mL of your chosen plant-based milk. Opt for milks with a fairly neutral taste, such as rice or soy, so as not to alter the flavors of your herbal tea.

3. Mix the brewed herbal tea and milk in a cup, adding a small amount of honey for extra sweetness.

4. The finishing touch: use a milk frother to froth a little cow's milk (it will froth much better than plant-based milk). Place the foam on top of your drink… and greedily gulp it down! Watch out for the milk mustache. 😊

#3 The mushroom smoothie

Smooth flavors & adaptogenic foods

Autumn isn't exactly the season for the most popular fruits… And yet, there's still some interesting selection on our shelves. Starting with figs, if you're looking for a refreshing treat! Those with a taste for adventure can even try a pumpkin smoothie. As for mushrooms: autumn means mushrooms, of course! Rest assured, we're not suggesting you blend porcini and chanterelles for a seasonal smoothie… Here, we're talking about adaptogenic mushrooms, available in powder form, ready to mix into all your favorite drinks.

Your super fig smoothie in 3 steps

1. Blend 3 fresh figs with 300 mL of almond milk and a pinch of vanilla seeds. You should obtain a smooth consistency similar to that of a liquid yogurt.

Variation: If you're feeling ambitious, roast your figs with the honey in a small saucepan before blending everything with your milk and Mushglow. The taste will be sweeter and more caramelized. Yum!

#4 Chicory so cosy

Like coffee, without the caffeine

And if you really miss your coffee, you can find a somewhat similar taste with chicory! Well-known to our grandmothers, who drank bowls of it at breakfast, it stands out for its caramelized flavor due to the roasting of its seeds. But its biggest advantage is that it doesn't contain caffeine, at a time when many of us are trying to "wean ourselves off" it.

The drink of autumn: chicory with cinnamon

1. Dilute 2 teaspoons of Cherico natural chicory in a small amount of hot water.
